TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 - Wat Umong and Doi Suthep Temple at Night

Day one of this three day package will be an evening tour will start with pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel. We will proceed towards Doi Pui mountain where we will make our first stop at Wat Umong. Wat Umong is a 700 year old temples nestled in the forest at the foot of Doi Pui mountain. The temple here is famous for its underground tunnels and large chedi, there is also a field containing broken Buddha statues, the twilight hours is definitely the best time to visit this atmospheric temple. Following Wat Umong the tour will proceed to Chiang Mai's most famous temple and without a doubt the evening time is definitely one of the best times to visit as the tourists crowds which do visit this temple will have mostly departed for the day. You will enjoy the very unique views of Chiang Mai at Night and will see the city lit up below you!

Day 2 - One Day Trekking With Elephant Care

Day two will be about interaction with some happy elephants and some adventure activities North of Chiang Mai. On pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel we will depart northwards to the Mae Tang area making a brief stop at the local market at Mae Malai. We will continue on to the small riverside elephant camp. The elephants spend a lot of their time here enjoying the company of the few trekkers who are brought here as well as having some space to roam to the river. At the elephant camp you will be introduced to the elephants and shown how to care for these lovely animals, you will spend around 2 hours at the elephant camp with the company of elephants and the highlight being a trip to the river where you will get to help the elephants take their morning bath (bring a swim suit!) Also at the camp you will learn how to make traditional elephant medicine from natural ingredients, learn how to make a natural elephant scrubber from the forest vines too. Following the elephant camp it will be time for lunch before embarking on the trek to the waterfall you will trek for the lush forest following a little stream to a jungle waterfall where you can take a shower under the cooling cascade of water. You will trek out of the jungle to the rafting camp where you will board the white water rafting boats for the 5km paddle down the Mae Tang River. In the wet season there are some big rapids on this stretch of water! At the end of the white water rafting you will transfer to the waiting transportation where you will be driven back to Chiang Mai and transferred to your Chiang Mai hotel.
