TOUR DESCRIPTION
Get a taste of Northern Thailand on this one day Chiang Mai Trek to the Mae Wang Area. You will visit a Karen hill tribe (not long Neck), a waterfall and also trek through the forest in the Mae Wang area. You will also get to spend some time feeding and bathing the elephants! Bring your swin wear as you are also likely to get wet while bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang River. This is an ideal trek for those of a less energetic nature as the walking involved is shorter and easier going than on the other single day treks featured and there is no white water rafting only the more relaxed bamboo variety.

Wear light clothes as trekking in this part of the world can be hot and sweaty work. Shorts, T shirt and a sun hat are ideal. Long trousers are OK as they will protect your lower legs more but will be hotter to wear. Bring a change of clothes for after the rafting as you are likely to get wet. Rain is possible at any time of the year but more likely during the rainy season months of May to October - bring a light weight rain coat during these months. There is a walk of around one hour in length and a good pair or sports shoes is recommended for the trek.

You are likely to get wet during the bamboo rafting and if conditions allow it is sometimes possible to swim at the waterfall . Please bring a swim suit.
Free pick up and drop off is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. Pick up from out of town resorts is not available.
If your hotel is outside the pick up zone you can use our central Thapae Gate office as your designated pick up location. Our Thapae Gate office address and map can be found here.
